REC Solar is proud to announce that the Walnut Creek Solar Challenge reached our goal of installing 100 Kilowatts of solar within the Walnut Creek Community.
REC Solar would like to thank the Walnut Creek Community for making this program a success. The Solar Challenge was a unique collaboration between the Walnut Creek community, the internationally recognized Ruth Bancroft Garden and REC Solar. Through this effort we have succeeded by increasing solar adoption in the community and honoring Ruth herself by building on her vision of conservation.
As promised, by meeting the 100 kW goal, REC Solar will be now be donating and installing a solar electric system at the Garden!
This solar electric system will be a good fit for The Garden’s ongoing commitment to conservation, and a way to save on electric bills each month—and we also hope the solar system will serve as an educational tool that inspires more people to use clean renewable energy.
New Incentives are availble for installing solar!
Since REC initialized our program, the solar electric landscape has changed dramatically. Most importantly, the Federal Tax incentive has changed from a credit capped at $2,000 to a 30% tax credit, making solar systems more affordable than ever before. At the same time, the rebate from the state of
California
is about to drop. Right now there is a short window of time left in which to get the higher rebates AND the higher tax credits. REC Solar will guarantee the higher state rebate amount until December 1st which means that if you have been thinking of going solar, now is the time. As participation in the program grows, the solar electric system for The Garden will continue to grow as well!
