Project Description

Harris Freeman & Co. is a global provider of tea, spice, and flexible packaging. As part of their commitment to the environment, they looked at solar to offset energy use at their facilities in California and New Jersey.

Harris Freeman selected REC Solar to design and build a 310 kW DC system at their facility in Anaheim, California, followed by a 509 kW DC roof-mounted system in Moorestown, New Jersey. They became the first tea company in the United States to operate on solar power.

“We view protecting the environment as a re-investment in our company, product, and our customers. In installing solar power, we are giving back to the community by removing cars on the street, reducing our dependence on oil, and reducing carbon emissions.”

Ray Borooah, Harris Freeman CEO
