Doing Our Part to Protect the Environment
 

At REC Solar we care about our environmental impact as a company and as individuals. With guidance from an in-house environmental management committee, we are continually making strides towards reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable world.

Many REC Solar employees, on their own time, participate in local programs that encourage alternative commuting solutions, recycling, and advocacy of environmental protection and community involvement.

Fuel-Efficient Fleet Program
As a fast-growing company with sales and installation crews in numerous locations nationwide, our primary environmental impact is automobile use. By January 2008, all solar energy consultants will be driving hybrid vehicles. We also make a concerted effort to operate our vehicles responsibly and economically.

 

Our highly efficient installation processes reduce our travel as much as possible. We carefully plan each day’s and week’s installation activities to optimize the route and minimize the distance between jobs.
All REC Solar sales vehicles are US EPA Certified SmartWay Elite and considered "superior environmental performers" by the Environmental Protection Agency. We have also begun to convert our installation trucks to biodiesel in areas where the fuel is available.
