Angiolo Laviziano guides the strategic direction and long-term vision of REC Solar. He believes that solar electricity will become part of the mainstream energy supply within the next decade, and that the USA will be the world’s largest market for solar electricity within five years.
“Our goal is to make solar simple and affordable, giving as many residential and business customers as possible the opportunity to install solar,” says Laviziano. “The positive environmental impact from solar power that we all desire will be realized by making solar electricity economically attractive.”
In the 1990s Laviziano worked in the financial industry in Hong Kong before joining Conergy, the largest European renewable energy system integrator. He served on Conergy's board of directors and saw the company through a strong and profitable growth process culminating in its European IPO in 2005.

Laviziano received a PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Hong Kong and holds a graduate business degree, equivalent to an MBA, from Koblenz School of Corporate Management in Koblenz, Germany.

 

Matthew Woods manages all sales activities for REC Solar. He currently oversees all sales regions in six states with annual sales growth over 75 percent. Under his leadership, REC Solar has grown to become one of the largest solar system integrators in the United States.

We are not just another installer – we pride ourselves in being a partner that our customers can trust before, during and after the installation of their solar system.”

Woods previously worked in the financial services industry as a district sales manager for a Fortune 500 company and the US banking division for Comerica Bank.

Woods has a B.S. in Finance and Economics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

 

Ethan Miller oversees the implementation of all solar projects at REC Solar, including branch operations, engineering, installation and service. He also participates in product development. Miller’s current focus is ensuring the operational excellence of the company’s rapid expansion into new and existing solar markets nationwide.

Since 2001 Miller has managed the engineering and installation of all REC Solar projects. “At REC Solar we combine best-of-class installation efficiency with very high quality work,” says Miller. “Our engineers and installers pursue this goal relentlessly.”

Miller has a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in renewable energy from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He earned certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) and has completed coursework in project management from the University of California, Berkeley. Miller has also participated in most solar manufacturer certification programs.

 

Judy Staley, Co-Founder and Director of Legal and Legislative Relations
Judy Staley founded REC Solar with Fred Sisson in 1997 and now oversees all legal, insurance and legislative processes at the company. Staley works closely with utilities, key government agencies, regulatory staff and office holders in a continuing effort to make solar power an economically viable energy source in every state. She participates with a number of industry organizations in this endeavor, including CALSEIA, The Solar Alliance, and many others.

“We are actively striving to shape solar legislation and the related administrative processes by working with utilities, rebate administrators and other relevant parties,” says Staley. “Getting solar energy into the mainstream as rapidly as possbily is a goal we passionately believe in and pursue on all fronts.”

Staley holds a BS in Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and has completed coursework in a number of related fields.

 

Fred Sisson co-founded REC Solar in 1997 with Judy Staley and now serves as the Chief Safety and Quality Officer.  As co-founder of the company, Sisson’s motivation for starting a renewable energy business was to improve the quality of life through the use of solar energy technologies.  Sisson now oversees construction activities for all commercial systems including onsite construction and engineering.  He also is in charge of quality control for all the company’s residential and commercial construction activities.

 

Sisson participates in a number of professional organizations such as CALSEIA and ASES (American Solar Energy Society).  He holds a Master Electrician’s license in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Oregon in addition to being NACEP certified (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners).
