REC Solar recently completed a 27 kilowatt (kW) solar electric system for Agriland Farming Company, Inc., a nut and fruit grower specializing in permanent crops.  The solar electric system is projected to supply over 90% of the overall electricity usage at Agriland’s office headquarters and will produce close to 40,000 kilowatt hours annually.  Agriland’s solar electric system consists of one hundred and fifty-three (153) Mitsubishi 180-watt UD4 panels and five (5) SMA 6000-watt inverters with LCD & display.  Additionally, the system includes a web-based monitoring system provided by Energy Recommerce.  The web based monitoring system will allow Agriland Farming Company to track and store their system’s energy output along with other vital information.

This large system was installed on the roof of a drilling equipment manufacturer’s facility in Santa Maria, CA, to offset the high cost of operating its machinery. The system installation was streamlined by the innovative method used to attach the panels to the building’s roof. REC devised a way to clip the panels onto the roof so that no roof penetrations were needed, while still maintaining the durability of the system.

Star Finishes

Star Finishes was founded in 2000 with the goal of supplying high-end, custom and “Class A” powder-coating services in the Central San Joaquin Valley. Star Finishes was one of the first powder-coating companies in the state of California to employ a non-chromate conversion coating. Using this environmentally friendly process was very important to the company's partners and has proven to be equally important to their customers. Star Finishes invested in an REC solar electric system in order to further prove their commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

Harvest Market
Location: Mendocino, CA

In August of 2007 Harvest Market installed 25.5 kilowatt (kW) solar electric system, which was designed and installed by REC Solar. Harvest Market has set the standard for years in the grocery business in Mendocino County and has once again raised the bar by using solar electricity to power their business. Harvest Market’s solar electric system is comprised of one hundred and fifty-two (152) Sharp 167-watt panels and one (1) Xantrex PV30-208 inverter.  The solar electric system is projected to produce over 31,000 kW hours annually and will save the company thousands of dollars in electricity costs.
