Tony Automotive Group has Honda, Nissan and Hyundai locations in Hawaii, a state that has the highest utility rates in the nation. To offset these costs, Tony Automotive Group wanted to maximize the size and production of solar systems, despite relatively small roof sizes.
REC Solar was selected to design, engineer and built three separate systems. We used every available square foot of space and equipment that maximizes production, which cut first year energy expenses by over $100,000. By taking advantage of state and federal tax incentives, Tony Auto was able to offset about 80% of the system cost.
“We are very pleased with our decision to buy the system. It has created real value for our business and proved our commitment to being a positive member of our community.”
Mike Kioga, Tony Auto Group CFO
