We had so many amazing submissions for our Megawatts comic book sequel contest! All the submissions had compelling characters and really great storylines about renewable energy, so it was a really tough decision to pick only one for our next comic book. But we are excited to announce our official winner!
At REC Solar, we are often fortunate to work with incredibly passionate organizations driven to make an impact in the world. Jana Ganion and Blue Lake Rancheria are a perfect example. REC Solar had the pleasure of building a 500kw solar array as part of a microgrid solution. This solar system, which includes energy storage, is helping power government offices, economic enterprises, and critical Red Cross safety shelter-in-place facilities across 100 acres.
Combining solar and energy storage can generate significant value for commercial energy customers. Due to technology improvements and cost reductions, installing storage with solar can maximize energy savings potential and, with innovative financing solutions, it can be accomplished without using valuable capex dollars.
Yes, we live in a utility grid dominant world right now that is mainly powered by fossil fuels and nuclear power. And yet, more and more microgrids powered by solar and other renewable technologies are coming on line or are under development today.
