Case Study

Department of Veterans Affairs

The Scenario

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’s (VA) goal is to increase its share of renewable electricity consumption to 30 percent by 2025. Many of its facilities across the country have space for solar via parking lots, building rooftops and adjacent land. REC Solar engaged with the VA to identify viable facility locations and develop creative ways to maximize solar production.

The Solution

REC Solar completed over 30 MW of design/build grid-tied solar photovoltaic (PV) projects as both prime and general contractor, and partnered with Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB). These projects include fixed and tracking ground mounts, cantilevered carports, parking canopies, and roof mounts in several states.
