The Scenario

Turtle Bay Resort is an award-winning resort on the north shore of Oahu that is focused on sustainability. winning the “Leader in Sustainability Award” from the Hawaii Lodging & Tourism Association. The resort was looking to lower their energy costs in a sustainable way and turned to REC Solar for help. 

The Solution

REC Solar designed and built a rooftop system and ground mount systems on the facility’s golf course and water treatment plant. Combined, the systems reduce energy use and will save $2.5 million over the next 20 years. Turtle Bay Resort is considered the first major Oahu resort property to have a rooftop solar installation, demonstrating its high level of commitment to the environment in Hawaii.
