The Director, Project Finance will play a key role in the structuring and execution of project-level tax equity and debt transactions, as well as analysis and execution of new project finance opportunities for both behind-the-meter, greenfield and M&A projects in REC’s portfolio.
Reporting to Chief Investment Officer, this individual will lead the structuring and analysis of new potential financing transactions, and lead the execution of dropping projects and portfolios into REC’s existing debt and tax equity facilities. This individual will play a lead role negotiating documentation with tax equity investors, lenders, and third party consultants as well as manage both internal and external stakeholders throughout the process. This position requires extensive modelling experience, attention to detail, and a self-directed approach to process management. Additionally, this individual should have knowledge of project-level fundamentals and the ability to work collaboratively with REC Solar’s team members and third parties across the renewable energy financing community. Ideally, the candidate has demonstrated experience in negotiating debt and tax equity structures and successfully led or played a key role in negotiating and closing those facilities as well as the management of the subsequent project fundings.
Responsibilities
- Lead modeling and analytical comparison of financing opportunities for portfolios of distributed solar and energy storage assets. Financing activities include tax equity, ITC transfer, construction and term debt, warehouse facilities, and LC facilities.
- Work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and Director, M&A and other members of the Project Finance team to optimize financing structures for both greenfield and M&A portfolios.
- Manage investor and lender due diligence and all third-party consultants and deliverables required for third-party financing processes.
- Provide financial guidance to the development and sales teams by providing financial oversight / guidance / analysis of projects.
- Maintain up to date financial and tracking models (and an understanding of how to monetize projects) within existing markets, and lead the management and refinement of the team’s tax equity capital accounts model.
- Stay abreast of financial market developments (products and macro trends), make financial model updates, and provide recommendations on changes in company market strategy, based on changes in local, state, and federal financial incentives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a concentration in finance, economics, or business.
- Demonstrated experience in Excel modelling and analysis, ideally in the renewable energy tax equity and debt sector. Distributed generation financing experience is a plus, but not required.
- Thorough understanding of the tax equity and debt frameworks for renewable energy, ideally with demonstrated experience negotiating, closing, and managing debt or tax equity financing and due diligence processes.
- Proven track record of organizing teams internally and appropriately managing external stakeholders and complex processes.
- Ability to utilize Excel, create excel trackers, and be able to use Word and PowerPoint for reporting/presentations via teams or in person.
- Strong work ethic, self-starter, ability to drive transactions and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced work environment.

The Technical Accounting Manager plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, particularly around complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, consolidation, and project finance. This role will also lead the design and optimization of accounting systems architecture and ERP implementations to support the company’s scaling operations.
Responsibilities

Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Research and apply complex US GAAP accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 810) to solar project development, power purchase agreements (PPAs), EPC contracts, and financing structures including tax equity and debt.
- Ensure proper treatment of consolidations and eliminations across the corporate organization chart
- Draft technical accounting memos and present conclusions to internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- Support audit and reporting requirements, including preparation of footnotes, disclosures, and whitepapers.
- Collaborate with FP&A, legal, and project finance teams to assess accounting implications of new contracts and deal structures.
- Monitor new accounting standards and assess their impact on the company.

ERP & Systems Architecture
- Serve as the accounting systems architect for ERP implementation (e.g., Sage Intacct), with a focus on automation, scalability, and integration across project lifecycles.
- Partner with IT and business process owners to design chart of accounts, reporting structures, and workflows tailored for a project-based IPP.
- Lead implementation or optimization of ERP modules for revenue, procurement, fixed assets, and project costing.
- Maintain internal controls within ERP systems, including user access, segregation of duties, and audit trails.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Standardize accounting policies, procedures, and templates across the organization.
- Project manage and partner with FP&A for implementation of KPIs for the Accounting team, including benchmarking and cash flow forecasting
- Drive continuous improvement and automation in the monthly close process and financial reporting systems.
- Provide training and support to accounting and project teams on accounting standards and system best practices.
Qualifications
- CPA required; Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience strongly preferred.
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting and ERP implementation roles.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and complex accounting topics, especially those relevant to energy infrastructure and project finance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar), including system design, testing, and rollout.
- Solar, renewable energy, or power sector experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with tax equity, partnership flips, and sale-leaseback structures.
- Knowledge of integrated platforms (e.g., Datarails, Salesforce, Sitetracker, project management tools, or data warehouses) a plus.
The Director, Tax will lead and manage the company’s tax function across all jurisdictions. This role is responsible for the strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning for all direct and indirect taxes, including income tax, property tax, sales & use tax, and energy-specific tax incentives and credits. The Tax Director will play a critical role in supporting the company’s growth, structuring project-level investments, and ensuring compliance in a dynamic regulatory environment.

Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the company’s overall tax strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting the company’s tax position.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and coordinate tax due diligence efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, Development, and Project Finance teams to advise on tax impacts of transactions and business activities, including investment tax credit (ITC) analysis.
- Support tax structuring for complex entities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and tax equity arrangements.

Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the preparation and review of direct taxes including federal, state, and local income tax returns (corporate and partnership) and franchise taxes.
- Timely file and pay monthly, quarterly, & annual indirect tax
- Ensure compliance with state and local sales & use tax, property tax, and gross receipts tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Maintain accurate and timely tax records and reporting to support financial audits and internal reporting.
- Manage external consultants for timely and accurately completing preparation and filing
- Lead audits and manage exemption certificates, nexus reviews, and registration processes.
- Develop strategies to optimize indirect tax positions, especially in the context of solar equipment procurement, project construction, and property tax minimization strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience; experience in the renewable energy or infrastructure sector strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, especially as they relate to partnerships, LLCs, and renewable energy credits.
- Demonstrated experience with both direct and indirect tax compliance and planning.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and GAAP tax accounting.
- Knowledge of IRC 743 and tax consideration related to transfer of ownership
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The Director of Commercial Asset Management will lead the commercial performance, financial optimization, and contract compliance for a growing fleet of distributed generation solar (including storage-coupled) and fuel cell projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, who can navigate complex project structures, utility programs, and customer agreements across multiple jurisdictions and counterparties.
Responsibilities
- Portfolio Oversight: Manage the commercial performance of a distributed fleet of DG solar, storage, and fuel cell assets across multiple markets and customer types (C&I, community solar, municipal, etc.).
- Compliance & Contract Management: Oversee compliance with power purchase agreements (PPAs), lease agreements, community solar subscriber contracts, utility incentive programs, interconnection agreements, and regulatory requirements. Manage insurance program for operating assets. Lead compliance reporting for equity and debt partners, including KPI and covenant reporting and forecasting
- Financial Optimization of Fleet: Monitor and optimize revenue streams including retail PPAs, community solar agreements, REC/SREC sales, and incentive programs. Ensure billings are completed timely and accurately. Relentlessly pursue cost optimization strategies (e.g. working closely with Technical Asset Management team to optimize O&M costs and benefits).
- Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the main point of contact for off-takers, utility partners, tax equity investors, asset-level lenders, and third-party asset managers.
- Performance Reporting: Lead monthly and quarterly performance reviews, working closely with Technical Asset Management, Accounting, and Finance to track KPIs, budgets, variances, and operational metrics. Work closely with Finance & Accounting team to budget and forecast performance.
- Lifecycle Management: Support onboarding of new assets, contract changes, and customer renewals.
- Process Improvement: Implement scalable systems and procedures to manage asset performance, contract obligations, billing/invoicing, and reporting. Coordinate with internal functional leads to increase project throughput and complete feedback loop to the development & delivery team.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of commercial asset managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in renewable energy, with at least 5 years in commercial asset management of DG solar assets.
- Proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams
- Deep knowledge of DG project structures, utility programs, interconnection processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with revenue modeling and interpreting project finance structures (tax equity, debt).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders across multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and building systems from the ground up.
- Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, and experience with asset performance monitoring software, project management (e.g. Sitetracker), ERP (e.g. Sage Intacct), and reporting (e.g. PowerBI or Datarails) tools.
